Arts Advocacy Day 2013 - Presented by Tennesseans for the Arts

Every year, arts advocates come together from across the state to gather and visit their legislative representatives in Nashville. Organized by Tennesseans for the Arts, Arts Advocacy Day brings representatives from all segments of Tennessee’s extraordinary arts community together for one day to: 1) Talk about the arts, 2) Make new friends, and 3) Educate our legislators about the importance of the arts to Tennessee. Past participants have enthusiastically reported two things about Arts Advocacy Day. First, they feel empowered by gathering together with like-minded people. Second, they say that Arts Advocacy Day is one of the best arts networking events of the year. Through this big day, we show what a strong, vital arts community we have across the state.

On Arts Advocacy Day, we are out in full force to say “Support the arts!”

Arts Advocacy Day will include three components:

1. Gather at Nashville's beautiful downtown Public Library auditorium for an update on what's happening on the Hill and the State Your Place license plate project;

2. Attend an Advocacy Workshop including instruction on the Adopt a Legislator Project;

3. Meet with Legislators (to be determined by the Arts Advocates and their Legislators).
